ประวัติย่อ : เมื่อกลางปี 2544 (2001 AD) Toshiba ออก Libretto L series, มีวางขายแต่ในญี่ปุ่น, เพื่อแข่งขันกับ Fujitsu's P series และ Sony's VAIO ซึ่งเป็น "small note" platform ที่มี Transmeta's Crusoe CPU. แต่ดูเหมือนว่า Toshiba จะได้เปรียบเพราะเคยออก "small note" platform ในกลุ่ม Libretto มานานพอสมควรตั้งแต่ Libretto ตัวแรก Libretto 50 ที่มี Intel's Pentium 166-MMX mobile version (ดู Toshiba site สำหรับข้อมูลประวัติ). ผมมี Libretto L3 มาขาย ใช้มา 7 เดือน ไม่มี FDD, CD-ROM หรือ external drives มาด้วย RAM เพิ่มเป็น to 384 MB, อย่างอื่นเหมือนใน spec ข้างล่าง
